MEDITATION IS AS NATURAL TO THE MIND AS BREATHING IS TO THE BODY - DEAN DAS

What is Kundalini Yoga Meditation?

The physics of the human body is that of an electro-magnetic energy field transmitting electro-chemical substances, via the central nervous system, to the brain, and to all parts of the body. Traversing the length and breadth of the human body are thousands of fine nerve channels or conduits allowing for the movement of this electro-magnetic life-giving energy. Yogis refer to these pathways as 'nadis'.  'Nadis' belong not to the gross body of flesh, blood, fat ect. They are so fine as to not be visible to the physical eye. 'Nadis' are the carriers of bio-energy in what is called 'the subtle body'. The 'subtle body' lies concealed within the gross physical body. We mostly live through the instrument of our 'gross body', through the five external senses (sight; sound; touch; taste; smell). Only in dreams do we have partial access to the workings of 'the subtle body'. Through the pathway of Meditation we gain access to the underlying source of all living consciousness, 'the energetic body', concealed within the 'subtle body'.

Kundalini Yoga Meditation employs a series of repetitive, systematic practices incorporating the body, the breath and the mind ('the three bodies'), to enter 'the subtle body'. The series of practices regulate, balance, and refine the psycho-chemical energy system that is the human organism. With refinement of awareness, we have access to the worlds of light, sound, and energy which comprise 'the subtle body'.

The entering into the experience of 'the subtle body' is termed the 'awakening' of Kundalini.

This inner spiritual force, once 'awakened' proceeds to prepare the organism for a higher and more refined state of being through total cellular reorganization, and neurological realignment. Free from the limitations of the conditioned mind, a state of profound peace, inner stillness, and pure joy, is the outcome. This is the unfolding of our creative evolutionary potential.

Kundalini Yoga Meditation is an entirely safe practice when practiced under the guidance of a master-practitioner, one who has personally travelled the path of kundalini through its various stages to its final destination. The practices themselves are not difficult in execution, and are achievable for all.
